The souq is located in the district of Al Souq near the Al Fanar mosque. It is open until around noon time and the shops open again in the late afternoon around 4pm and stay open very late. Souq Waqif really comes alive around 8pm. In fact, due to the hot climate, the people often stay out very late in town. You can see entire families late at night i.e. 2am at the waterfront.
